Frequently, constituents run into problems when dealing with the federal government.  It is possible to request help from a Congressional office. A Congressional inquiry can relay information, or request information and monitor the progress and resolution of the case. An inquiry cannot guarantee the outcome of a case, sway the agency's decision, or overturn a court ruling.

Due to the Privacy Authorization Act of 1974, all requests for assistance must be in writing, addressed directly to the Congressman and initiated by the constituent involved. A privacy authorization consent form is included on this site which would satisfy the Privacy Act requirement.
